On the Kohala Coast of the Big island of Hawaii there is an ancient land section ('ili) known for centuries as Kalahuipa'a.  In ancient Hawaii, ths is the place where Kings would come to rest and play and the kupuna, or elders, would come to worship.  This is now known worldwide as Mauna Lani Resort.
